Vince Alvarez
Director of Financial Management and Sponsored Projects
Vince has over 30 years of experience in research administration at West Virginia University and was most recently the Assistant Director of Sponsored Research Accounting in the WVU Finance unit. During his tenure he has provided oversight and expertise in all areas of the post award administration of sponsored agreements. He has also served on various project teams and committees involving major software implementations, system upgrades, reporting tool developments and process designs and enhancements. Vince has also held memberships and participated in various organizations supporting research administration and higher education such as the National Council of University Research Administrators, the Society of Research Administrators, Oracle Application Users Group and the College Business Management Institute. He also has a Grants Management Certification through Management Concepts as well as several training certifications with various federal agencies. Prior to WVU Vince worked in the banking industry in South Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance) and an associate degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.
